Second week in web class we learnt the CRAP principle of assessing websites. CRAP stands for

Contrast

Repetition

Alignment

Proximity

If a website fulfils these requirements it will be considered a good website. Now that we were given a criteria of how to assess a website we had to find 3 new good sites.

My best example of a good site using the CRAP principle is the Adidas site. The site uses a college that darkens when you select from the main menu to help make a strong contrast between the white background with black text and the darken images as shown in my screen shot.

Adidas site uses repetition of the menu bar at the top of each site and when you click on an image a small amount of information is displayed. Then when you go into different areas of the site the images continue through.

Most of the Adidas site is left aligned all the text is place to the left unless the image appears on the left then in which case the texts becomes right aligned.

The site uses proximity by always placing the logo in the top left corner. Also when you click on an image and expands all the others make room and keep their same proportions.
